Weekend in Wilmington with Belk

Monday, April 27, 2015
I had the awesome opportunity to channel my inner Belle and attend the North Carolina
Azalea festival with Belk a couple of weeks ago, and even though I feel like I just left- I already can't wait to go back. The Azalea Festival has been a Southern tradition for almost 70 years that includes garden and cocktail parties, home tours, street fairs, and a parade all in the charming and historic port city of Wilmington when the Azalea bushes are in full bloom.
And they are glooorious (Will Farrel voice).
This year,  live music was an instrumental part of the entire weekend (pun 100% intended) and some of my favorite times were getting to chill and listen to the awesome artists on tour with Belk for their Road South tour. With the recent popularity in music festivals across the country, it's hard to ignore one of their most undeniable components- the fashion.
I can't strum a chord to save my life, but I can outfit plan for watching other people do it like nobodies business. My style evolves and changes everyday, I like to try trends as well as incorporate classics- so I headed to Belk to pick up looks for all of the fun events each with different vibes ranging from preppy (hello, Searucker suits!) to formal, to boho. This week, I'll be sharing all of the looks that Wilmington based photographer, Chris Brehmer captured while I was in town, starting with this lace and pleated dress for the annual Garden Party at Airlie Gardens,  where got a real taste of gentile Southern Charm. And it even came in a Belk coozie!
Can't pass up a fountain photo op.
They don't call it the Azalea Festival for nothin.
Love this cream color when I've a tan goin on!
The one and only- Carly Jo Jackson

jump start

I've been waiting to share this look from a recent trip to Concord Mills for a few reasons. 1. the deals are outrageous 2. I've completed my search for the perfect leather moto vest (this one is vegan!) 3. I'm GIVING AWAY a $100 gift card for you to jump start your own spring shopping!
Moto Vest, Print Jumpsuit, Sunglasses, Bag, Nail Polish, Heels,

I'm all about saving where I can, so I can spend when I want. I've been shopping at the Concord Mills outlets since I was a freshman in college (we're talking 10 years, y'all) to get designer clothes for the price of a bar tab dinner date. Even though my budget has changed since I was 18, I'll still be damned if I spend more than I have to on an outfit. Here's the break down on this one:
SAKS 5th Ave Vest $149 $56 , 5/48 Jumpsuit $115 $54REBECCA MINKOFF Bag $295 $165 (+ 40% OFF bags in-store) $100CHARLOTTE RUSSE Heels $30 $17$589 $217 if you're not a math whiz or can't find your calculator, I saved $372! You can see even more of what I scored on my excursion at stores like Saks OFF 5th and J.Crew with with hashtag #MILLSDEALS on Instagram & Twitter!
With these prices, it's easy to stretch your dollar and stock on up on new clothes for your closet. If  you're like me, though- there's gotta be some give with the take, some yin with the yang. That's why before I head out to do some damage, I incorporate a wardrobe evaluation to my spring cleaning by donating my gently used clothing to local charities (my go-to in Charlotte is the Crisis Assistance Ministry!) which I feel makes them even more valuable than what I paid to begin with.Win- Win!

Speaking of winning- Concord Mills wants you to win $100 to spend howeva you want, anywhere in the outlets. All you have to do is follow us on Instagram & you're entered! a Rafflecopter giveaway

Enter anytime between now and Tuesday, April 14th! For extra entries, like our Facebook pages. Winner will be announced via instagram Wednesday, April 15th. Good luck!
